Words to Remember

Most of the stories, comments, and questions that come out of Annie's mouth leave me laughing or smiling. Here are a few I want to remember...

Me: Annie, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Annie: A fashionista.
Me: What does Shae want to be?
Annie: An angel or a shovel.

I was going through our morning routine with Annie, letting her know everything that needs to be done and in what order... I'm a little OCD. Annie enjoys having a schedule and giving her input. I was just about finished with my list, when Annie grabs my hand, looks me straight in the eyes, with a very serious look, and says, "You need to watch out for Swiper the Fox. He'll get ya". Thank you Annie. I will take note.

We were reading a book with farm animals and we came to a page with a goat. The goat had a long white beard. Annie states, "Papa has a beard, just like a goat!"

And my personal favorite...

I was on hold with a member of the Idaho State Department of Education. I had a few questions about the renewal of my teaching certificate. Annie decided it was time to ask me a million questions and she needed those answers ASAP. I told her, "Give me a few minutes on the phone, then I can answer your questions". She asked me why and I responded, "So that I can be a teacher". She stared at me in silence for the next few minutes as I finished my conversation. Once I was off of the phone, Annie immediately said, in a worried tone, "You can't be a teacher, because you are my mama".

She melts my heart.
