Our Little Ray of Sunshine

We went to the hospital not knowing what Emery's middle name was going to be. Nothing would stick. As I watched the kids come running in, so ecstatic to meet their new sister, it hit me. This little girl was destined to bring so much love, happiness, and joy into our home.
She is our "ray of sunshine".
Hence her middle name, Ray.

Grandma and Emery

Nathan left for a week long trip (for school) across the country two days after Emery was born.
It was horrific.
I wasn't in the best place, mentally and I desperately needed company! My mom, being the saint that she is, came to the rescue. She stayed with me for that entire week, taking care of EVERYTHING. Cooking, cleaning, taking care of the other kids, you name it - she did it. I even woke up to breakfast in bed EVERY MORNING.
It was unreal.
All I did was take care of my sweet newborn. I will forever cherish those one-on-one moments I spent with my Emery during her first week of life. It is truly the best gift anyone could give.
Thank you Mom!
I wouldn't have survived that week without you.

Four Days Old

This bundle of love may have her days and nights mixed up, but it's ok, because she's cute.
And we love her.

Introducing Emery Ray Cope

I was induced two weeks early with this sweet girl.
She weighed in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces and 19 inches long.
I dilate from a six to a ten in just 15 minutes.
Three pushes and she was out.
Completely perfect
