It happened.
This little lady turned SIX! What?! It seems so much older than five.
After school, we met Annie at her school bus with balloons. Her friends, who are mostly boys, came up and gave her big hugs. She felt so special.
We then headed to Costco, picked up some churros, and arrived at Grandpa and Grandma's house with plenty of time to play before the men came home for the party!
Annie requested a butterfly cake. This is what we came up with... the butterflies (which I did not make) are actually edible! Disgusting, but edible :)
The kids played their hearts out before coming in for dinner.
Once the boys arrived home from their fishing outing, we opened presents, and had some cake.
Annie's favorite gift was a fishing pole!
It was fun to have Uncle Shaun in town to help celebrate! Since his and Nathan's birthday were so close, we celebrated their birthdays too.
We bought Shaun some flushable wipes... the ultimate comfort :)
My mom knows Nathan so well. Cabela's gift card and Pop Tarts!
Time to blow out the candles and have some cake!
For Nathan's birthday cake, I made a bunch of Mountain Dew cupcakes, then gave Nathan a giant cupcake . They were delicious.
We stayed the night at my parents' then spent the next morning fishing. Annie was anxious to try out her new pole! The weather could not have been more perfect.
After coming home from fishing, we washed up then headed to the mall. Annie picked out some jewelry and clothes.
That evening, Papa and Uncle James met up with us. We went out to dinner at Boston's. They gave her a free monster cookie and had the entire restaurant singing her Happy Birthday! It was awesome!
Sunday evening, after church, Duane and Megan joined us all for dinner and more presents.
Once again, Annie was given some awesome gifts, including all kinds of fishing equipment from her Uncle Duane and Megan.
Thanks for coming guys! We love visitors!
I feel honored to be this girl's mother.
Annie is the most resilient, tough, brave girl I know! She is always willing to give something a try, even when it's a little scary.
She is a rockstar and we love her!
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!
