Memorial Day

Nathan had a few hours off work in the middle of the day, so we took that time and went fishing! Nathan caught a 16 inch Brown Trout.
Annie enjoyed touching the water...
Showing me her wet finger...
Unfortunately, I didn't catch anything... not even a bite!
We still had fun :)

Another Football Season Has Begun!

Unfortunately, not enough players on the other team showed up, so they had to forfeit. They had enough guys on Nathan's team to make two teams, so they just split up and had a quick scrimmage. So instead of taking pictures of the team, I took some of Annie :)
Here she is in her football stance... flags and all.
Tough girl... Ready for some football!
Hopefully we will get to watch a real game next week, if not, I always have Annie as entertainment.

Visiting Home

Last week Annie and I were able to go home for a visit. The drive there, Annie was restless, which led to a few pit stops. This picture below was taken at the first stop...
Hanging with her Uncles... She grew quite close to them throughout the week.
It was the sweetest thing, Annie held a tight grip on Shaun's finger during her nap. She obviously didn't want Shaun to leave :)
Another nap...
Monday we decided to go swimming! Annie loved every bit of it.
Aunt Carmen came swimming too. Annie enjoyed splashing and chasing her.
Playing with the pool ball...
We swam for a good two hours! Annie was exhausted.
Annie spent a lot of her time swinging. I think this picture does a great job expressing her excitement in the swing :)
Jumping on the trampoline...
We went to Cabela's one day... Annie enjoyed the aquarium.
Grandpa and Annie... She loved the dog and any other animals she saw.
Walking around in the backyard... The weather was beautiful!
Aunt Carmen and Annie...
Uncle Brian, Grandpa, Aunt Carmen, and Annie... She would not take this hat off. It was hilarious how much she enjoyed the fact that it was on her head! She kept reaching up to pat her head simply to verify that it was still there.
Uncle Brian took out his endowments the last day I was there. He is preparing to serve a two year mission for our church in Uruguay! We are so proud of him and I feel so blessed to have been there. Big thanks to Carmen for watching Annie that whole time!
After the temple, we went out to eat. Annie hung out in this "ice cream truck" for a while as everyone was finishing up their meal.
She did not want to get out... Determined to stay in the truck.
I had to throw this picture in too... Her face is priceless!
Thanks mom and dad for letting us come and intrude for a week! We had so much fun! Love you and miss you :)

Windy Day at the Park

I went in to get Annie from her nap today and we had our first conversation! Here is how it went...

Me: "Hi!"
Annie: "Hi!"
Me: "Are you all done with your nap?"
Annie: "Awe done!"

It blows me away to hear her talking now. She is such a joy!

Girls Just Wanna to Have Fun...

My previous college roommates were not able to make it to Annie's first birthday party, so they threw another one for her when they were all in town. They had a big spread of food prepared and Michelle made these ADORABLE cupcakes pictured below.
Eating her cupcake... She loved it :)
They have this huge stuffed lion's head at their apartment... Annie thinks it is hilarious. If you can't tell, she is laughing.
Annie and Michelle
Lydia, Annie, and Amanda
Brittany, Annie, and Emily
The whole gang! (Expect for Brittany, who was taking the picture.)
Thank you so much girls for throwing this party! Annie is so blessed to have so many people who love her. Happy Birthday Annie (again)!

Spending Time at the Park!

More Fishing...

Annie and I woke up to a slimy fish on our front lawn the other day. Nathan had gone fishing in the morning and brought home a tasty one! Annie was intrigued by the sight of this fish...
