Little Shae

The girls are both napping, so I am going to use this spare time to share a few pictures of Shae.
I love her expression in this one...

When shae is awake, she is so alert! She continuously follows us with her eyes.
She has also been talking quiet a bit! Shae's expressions alone allow her coos, grunts, and gurgles to make complete sense.
She's been flashing us several sweet smiles lately. Unfortunately, this is the only smile (and it's a small one) that I've been able to catch on camera.
Shae and I have finally been able to get ourselves on a nice sleeping schedule. She wakes up only once in the night, just to eat, then goes right back to sleep. It's been nice.

All Dolled Up

Sometimes Annie treats Shae like she is her very own, real life doll. Today I came into the living room to find this bow and those bracelets on Shae. Annie kept talking about how pretty she looks... Can you see the terror in Shae's eyes? :) Just kidding, I actually think Shae enjoys the attention from her sister.

Easter!

We had a fun-filled Easter this year. The festivities started on Saturday morning. The primary had an Easter egg hunt activity! Annie enjoyed finding the eggs and of coarse, chowing down on all of the candy.

Sunday morning, Annie received an Easter basket with even more candy, along with a Fancy Nancy book (her favorite series) and a funny chick.
She took her time opening all of the eggs and finding the candy inside. Annie made sure we saw every piece :)

Unfortunately, the girls and I were feeling pretty sick, so we were unable to attend church. Nathan stayed home and took care of us. He made a DELICIOUS dinner including a pork roast, potatoes, salad, rolls... you get the idea. We love him :)
I am so thankful for Easter and the chance that we have to remember Christ, His life, and the Resurrection. I know that Christ lives. I know that He atoned for our sins and He knows each of us personally. I know that as we trust in Him and follow Him, our lives will be blessed and we will be able to live with our Heavenly Father again. I am so grateful for this knowledge!
Happy Easter Everyone!

One Year Older and Wiser Too...

Happy Birthday to Nathan! He turned 25 on Thursday! Quarter of a century old :)

I am so grateful for Nathan. I could not have asked for a better husband and father! He is a saint and has truly dedicated himself to his family. I love you Nathan and I look forward to what lies ahead for us! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

"Shae? Play? Ok!"

Can you find Shae's little head in there, under all of those toys?
This is Annie's way of playing with Shae... stacking as many toys on her as she can. I've learned it's time to come to Shae's rescue when I hear, "Shae? Play? Ok!"

We went to the mall today...

Annie had to try out a few of their rides.

We had to bribe her with fruit snacks to get her off of them. It worked! She climbed off with a smile on her face. It's amazing what a package of fruit snacks will do :)

Feeding the Ducks

Today we decided to go feed the ducks! Annie was ecstatic.
Throwing the bread...

Chasing the ducks...

So Proud :)

Nathan was sleeping...

Annie decided it would be a good idea to sit on him (attempting to wake him up). So, why not put Shae up there too and take a picture.
We are all grateful for a patient Daddy :)

Annie Turned Two!

Yesterday was Annie's birthday. She started out the morning with a tasty breakfast made by Daddy. After church, the Buie's, Brad, and Katelyn came over for some Barbie cake and ice cream.

Blowing out her candles...
Opening her presents...
She opened a Barbie, choo-choo train, a few cars- curtesy of Nathan, and some new pajamas.
Playing with her presents...
Brad and Katelyn gave Annie a Pillow Pet, which she slept with last night and will probably continue to sleep with every night!
Today she received another package in the mail from the Cope's! She LOVED opening up another Barbie and of coarse had to try everything on :)
Nathan and I are so blessed to have Annie in our little family. We are grateful for her sweet and spunky personality. Annie is constantly making us smile. We LOVE her dearly!

One Month Old

Shae has grown up so much! We been able to catch a few smiles, hear a few "coos", and continually kiss her perfect cheeks. She is developing beautifully.
Here are her one month numbers:
Weight: 9 pounds, 7 ounces (65th percentile)
Height: 21 inches (50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 14.8 inches (70th percentile)
Love these girls...

Oh how they grow!

Check out this size difference...
They grow up too fast!

Conversations

It is the sweetest thing to see these two conversing. Annie will talk and Shae will "attempt" to answer.
Proud Big Sister

Random Annie Update...

Lately, we've been busy. This week has flown by. Here is a quick Annie update with a few pictures taken this week...
She played a little dress up...
More dressing up...
Notice the broken stroller? It is now fixed... Annie sat in it, not realizing that she may be a BIT too big :)
She loves getting her hair done and looking "pretty".
We spent some time outside because the weather has finally decided to cooperate...
most of the time.
Annie was even able to go on a quick bike ride, thanks to Gena!
The helmet was a bit snug... so it basically just sat on her head. We placed the hood over it, hoping to help the helmet stay in place... it didn't work as well as we thought it would.
I just thought I'd throw this picture in as well to document her after nap-time, rosy cheeks! So kissable.
Yes, I know this post is random, but I just had to throw in these pictures somehow... for my own purposes :)

Big Girl Bed

Last night was Annie's first night sleeping in the twin bed. She was ecstatic, to say the least! She stayed in bed all night and slept like a log. Today, Annie has been talking non-stop about her "bi gul ba" (big girl bed). She is so proud :)
I can't believe Annie will be be two in about a week. She is growing up so quickly and with Shae here now, time seems to be passing even faster. Annie is my little helper and is such a sweet big sister to Shae. In fact, I caught Shae smiling for one of the first times today. Sure enough, it was at Annie, as she was singing to Shae. There is a sweet connection between these girls.

Night Owl

This little one has her days and nights mixed up. She goes to bed at a reasonable time, but then wakes up every three-four hours and insists on staying up for AT LEAST an hour every time! I just keep telling myself she appreciates that one-on-one time with her mama...
Luckily, she is slowly improving and sleeping more and more each night. In the mean time, I am enjoying her. Time spent with Shae is definitely worth the sleepless nights :)

Loving the SUNSHINE!

Annie's Latest

Annie always seems to find something to do while I am taking care of Shae. Let's just say, she gets creative...

These are just a few of my favorites. I wish I could catch all of them on my camera.
